Frequently Asked Questions

How many members of Team Tomorrow were working for Proteus?

Sadly, this has become the most asked question of late. At Team Tomorrow, however, we will not shirk our duty to those we protect, no matter how unpleasant it may be.

We're not completely sure how many Tomorrowites were secretly working for Proteus, but we suspect only a few. Psyche was discovered during the Bahrain incident, and two others aided a mystery nova's attempt on Corbin's life. That accounts for one on each team present. We've also had one disappearance each in T2M Americas and Asia/Pacific, and two other Auxiliary members have not returned from leave. Psyche claims that she didn't know of any others, but she also doesn't know the status of the two missing Auxiliary members.

While we haven't relaxed our guard, we are confident that there are no remaining Proteus agents within Team Tomorrow. All the remaining telepaths on the team examined all other members (all volunteered to be scanned), each other, and an unresisting Psyche. The search continues for the unaccounted-for Auxiliary members. If they are victims of Proteus or an opportunistic agency, they will be rescued; if they are allies of Proteus, they will be brought to justice.

Though we are not proud of how many Proteus agents managed to infiltrate the ranks of Team Tomorrow, given T2M's relative importance and size, we are relieved that we were able to resist further intrusion.

How can I get in touch with my favorite Tomorrowite?

Members of Team Tomorrow are in enormous demand; even lesser-known T2Mers have thousands if not millions of fans. In addition, Tomorrowites are constantly bombarded with requests to endorse a political position, a corporation, or special interest. If you simply wish to express your feelings toward a particular Tomorrowite, find their net page on this site and simply send an email. Please remember, however, that the vast majority of our members can't possibly answer every correspondence individually. Most have created a small pool of form responses, which a dedicated support staff team uses to reply with.

More personal contact is usually impossible to arrange on a small scale; however, many Tomorrowites attend several nova-related conventions every year. Again, check the individual net pages for details and expected schedules, but keep in mind that a member of T2M may have to cancel at any time in the event of a crisis.

Always remember, though, that most members of Team Tomorrow love hearing from you. They do a lot of hard work, from mediating disputes between millennia-old enemies to confronting natural disasters to years-long ecological repair projects to battling murderous novas around the world. Your kind words are always appreciated by these dedicated champions of humanity.

Why are there so many members of Team Tomorrow? Why do we usually see only certain members?

Team Tomorrow's public face consists of the four "core" teams and the most senior class within the ranks of the Auxiliary trainees. But there's always more work that needs to be done.

While the core members all have their specialties, all "first string" Tomorrowites are multi-talented, and can handle a number of situations. Core members must also be at least somewhat diplomatic. There are many novas, however, that gained great power and have a desire to help others without being gifted in the social arena, or perhaps their powers are highly specialized in a particular field that falls within T2M's areas of influence (disaster relief, combat, search and rescue, certain types of mega-intellect).

These Tomorrowites are no less heroic or dedicated, but often are not up to some of the rigors of a core member's duties. They serve in more specialized teams under the core groups' leadership, often being sent on missions that may be less glamorous, but are no less important to Utopia's vision of a brighter tomorrow for all.

Sometimes, a phenomenally gifted nova with vulnerabilities in other areas (Geisha, for example) will be inducted to a core team, but only after many factors are considered. Again, for example, in the field Geisha is issued an enormous amount of protective gear. She is also never without a "wing nova" to guard her from physical threats. Geisha is far more the exception than the rule, however. Most novas without considerable physical capabilities do not enter the field with a core team.

What is the Aeon Society's connection to Team Tomorrow?

The Aeon Society is, in many ways, the predecessor to our modern Team Tomorrow. Maxwell Mercer's original "Aeon Society for Gentlemen" (and ladies, though he didn't advertise that fact much) was a group of heroic and dedicated people with great gifts, dedicated to using them for a better and brighter tomorrow. While the Aeon Society itself has become more of a charitable organization, its ideals continue to inspire generations.

Officially, however, the Aeon Society's connection to Team Tomorrow is indirect. The Aeon Society Council continues to advise Director Laragiome, and provides assistance on those rare occasions when Utopia is lacking some valuable information or resource. As Team Tomorrow is a semi-independent subsidiary of Utopia, and Utopia itself is a semi-independent subsidiary of the Aeon Society, this means that direct contact between the two is rare.

What is Nova Corps One and how is it different from Team Tomorrow?

Nova Corps One is a charitable nova team funded by the Aeon Society directly, but operating independently, with no immediate oversight. (Of course, if the Aeon Society Council were to disapprove of NC1's activities, they could choose to withhold funding.) It has no official ties to Project Utopia, which has classified it as an "allied independent nova-based corporation." Though they perform many of the same functions as Team Tomorrow, they have less legal authority, having an independent contractor status with the United Nations rather than being a fully sanctioned partner with Interpol (as Team Tomorrow is).

Also, while NC1 has as members some enormously powerful novas, their numbers fluctuate between seven and twelve, the maximum membership allowed by their charter. Their primary function is as support for law enforcement divisions or legitimate governments that are in danger of being overwhelmed by superior nova force. They do, however, aid in disaster relief in a manner similar to Team Tomorrow's function, when time allows. NC1 has also worked to remain out of the spotlight, though the Imperiex incident earlier this year turned them into instant celebrities. Finally, Nova Corps One is completely self-maintaining, with a negligible support staff and based in a space station effectively independent of any government.

In other words, they function in a manner almost identical to the classic fictional "super hero" team. Nova Corps One and Team Tomorrow rarely work in concert, though there have been a few occasions on which the teams united in a common cause.

Nova Corps One's founding members are Captain Aeon, Astarte, Shadow Lord, Lady Volt and Doctor Hand. They do not yet maintain a NetSite, though their growing popularity all but guarantees that they will erect one eventually.
