Our "New" Car

This is our 1989 Daihatsu Charade CLX.

The name requires something of a long backstory, so I'll only elaborate if asked.

The detail photo is a visual pun. The original owner of this car usually pulled it behind his RV. So, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth added some art when he did the pinstriping that told it like it was; the car was Bee 'n Toad ;-).

This is also an early trial of another new toy. We got a camera to go on the Gameboy Advance. Not the greatest images, but easier (and faster!) than using film and then scanning. I'll try to get some better images eventually.

Update: Sadly, we overheated the engine, and a combustion leak test shows that combustion gases in the engine coolant. At best, it's a gasket -- at worst, the engine will need to be replaced. Since getting parts for this thing was always problematic, we've decided to sell it. Contact us if you're interested.
